Mrs. Kerr's 6th Grade Science

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Our class is currently working on a project where students are designing a cell (plant or animal). Using household items, students will create a 3-dimensional model of their cell and include the organelles and their functions. We will then move on to plants where students will identify the parts and functions of a flower by viewing a video, taking notes. To culminate this activity,  students will complete a dissection of a flower and identify the various parts.

Should you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress, classroom happenings, or anything else, I am willing to speak with you. You may contact me via email at, send in a note, or call the school at 908 298 2047 to leave a message or schedule an appointment. I am available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 3:10 - 3:30 pm or during my prep period from 9:30 - 10:10 am from Monday to Friday.

Please check the calendar as well as Google classroom for any homework or upcoming tests and quizzes. Please ensure that your child completes homework assignments since this is an important part of their grade.
